Chamarajanagar: A power man employed with the electricity department was charred to death attempting to restore the hanging high voltage power cables in Kestur village of Yelandur taluk on December 21.
Prashanth (20), a resident of Kestur is the deceased lineman.
The incident took place, when the ill-fated lineman attempted to restore hanging cables near Basaveshwara temple in the village.
Unfortunately, his body came in contact with the live wire during repair work and was charred to death beyond recognition.
Yelandur police are investigating further.
