Gundlupete: MLA CS Nirinjana Kumar said that the forest officials should stive to achieve zero zone this year too. He was addressing the forest officials, while meeting Project tiger director SR Natesh at Bandipur reserve forest office.
SR Natesh said that forest department officials should try to win the trust of villagers. They should quickly respond to the problems of the farmers, he said.
Talking to the MLA, Natesh said a fire line has been constructed at stretch of 2800 Km road that comprises National Highway, Rural Roads, Safari and Game roads which passes through reserve forest. Wherever required a broader fire line has been constructed, he said.
He also added security has been tightened on the main road and edge of forest as well as drone facilities has been in place. These apart, we have also arranged various awareness campaigns near the forest area, Natesh informed.
Further it was discussed that the forest has completely dried up due to unprecedented heat seen this year. It was opined that this prompts forest department officials and staff to work harder, be alert and seek cooperation villages on the edge of the forest.
