Mysore University PG centre contemplates starting campus selection

Chamarajanagara: Professor G Hemanth Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore, said that talks are on to give students a skill development training in the post graduate centres of the university and job mela’s similar to campus selections would be conducted.

He was speaking on the occasion of Ambedkar  Jayanthi celebrations and Akruti 2019 inauguration at B R Ambedkar PG Centre near Bedapura in the outskirts of the city.

He expressed his happiness over many students getting gold medals. 

Speaking about Ambedkar, the VC said that Ambedkar was fond of books and it was his knowledge that made him a great thinker. It was because of his knowledge that the United Nations had announced April 14, his birthday as the World Knowledge Day. Ambedkar had fought for the voting right, education policy, employment right and women’s equality, said Hemanth Kumar.

Professor D Anand, Dean of commerce, B N Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences also spoke on the occasion. He said that Ambedkar worked for the upliftment of the downtrodden. All the achievements of Ambedkar were possible because of his interest in gaining knowledge, a goal oriented mind and clean habits, said Professor Anand.
