Man-eating tiger finally captured based on camera footage

Gundlupet: A long hunt for the man-eating tiger in the Bandipur forest jurisdiction has finally come to an end, as the tiger has been captured, here on Sunday, October 13.

The forest officials have confirmed of the seven-year-old tiger being captured at Melukamanahalli camp, as it was successfully captured by shooting through dan-inject tranquilising gun.

Meanwhile, the tiger was traced through a camera setup in the wee hours of Saturday, in an agriculture land owned by Siddique at Maguvinhalli . Based on this footage, the operation was carried out at the same location by the forest officials.

It can be recalled that two farmers namely Shivamadadiah and Shivappa were killed earlier by the man-eating tiger, after which search operations for it was tightened by the forest officials. The elephants that participated in Mysuru Dasara’s “Jambu Savari” had also participated along with the drones to track the elephant.
