Kollegala : The heavy rains that lashed Kollegala town on Tuesday May 27 evening, has disrupted normal life. The rains accompanied by strong winds uprooted several trees in various places.
Police had a tough time in clearing the roads of tree branches. Low lying areas were inundated making matters further worse.
There are reports of trees getting uprooted on the roadside on the National Highway 209, near the GP Mallappa Puram area of Bangalore Road etc disrupting traffic for some time. Even a tree located near the mortuary of the Government Hospital in the town rolled on to the mortuary building.
The heavy rains also disrupted power supply in various parts of the town.
