Chamarajanagar: A government Adarsh (Model) School remained shut fearing bee attack on students within its premises near Chikkathuppuru village on October 4.
After noticing a beehive on the third floor of the school, staff made arrangements to clear the stinging bees from the area by adopting known crude methods on October 3.
When the school reopened this morning, bees remained in the vicinity whizzing overhead school staff.
Fearing bee attack on students and staff, the school headmaster decided to shut the school for the day.
None complained as they headed home to have an extended holiday of two days owing to Valmiki Jayanthi on October 5.
