Gundlupete: The selfie crazy among the visitors who throng sunflower farms is nothing new and making the best use of the same, a farmer from Gundlupet has charged fees for taking selfies with sunflowers on his farms. If any visitor pays the minimum charge to farmer Basappa, he will be allowed to take a selfie with sunflowers. Imposing charges will generate income for the farmers.
Along the Bengaluru-Gundlupete-Kerala (NH 67-766) there are hectares of sunflower farms where several tourists come to take selfies. As the taluk witnessed good rainfall, the scenic beauty of sunflower farms easily attract the tourists during June and July.
Street vendors have started selling tender coconuts and watermelons for the visitors when they come to take photographs in the sunflowers farms.
