Mangaluru: Zephyr-2018, a two-day national level PG Management Fest, organised by the Department of Business Administration at St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), was held on April 12 and 13.
P B Abdul Hameed, Vice President, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangaluru was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony held on April 12. He addressed the gathering and narrated his journey as an entrepreneur and advised the youth to be job providers and not job seekers. He also named determination, consistency and marketing as guiding principles for a start-up.
Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis said, “The beginning is always humble and one needs to be firm throughout the journey.” Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza encouraged all the participants to actively take part in the event and conveyed his best wishes to all the participants.
in all, 16 teams participated in the various events of Zephyr-2018. The valedictory function was held on April 13. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rio D’Souza said that meeting new people during these events adds value to one’s life and helps in developing skills.
The overall championship was bagged by the team from SDM PG Centre and the runners-up were A J Institute of Management.
Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director SJEC, Rev. Fr. Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director, SJEC, Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal and Dr. Rio D’Souza, Vice Principal presided over the valedictory ceremony and gave away the prizes.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Babitha Rohit, faculty convener, Zephyr-2018.
