Mangaluru: “National Ayurveda Day” was celebrated at Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Naringana on Saturday, November 3.
Ismail Meenamkodi, Panchayat President was the chief guest of the event. He also inaugurated the Marma Chikitsa OPD.
An oath taking ceremony called “Shishyopanayaneeya” was also conducted for the 1st year BAMS students.
Dr Raghavendra Udupa, HOD and Professor, Department of Samhita and Sidhanta, addressed and advised the students.
An elocution competition was also conducted for the students on the topic ‘Impact of commercializing Healthcare’ and the winners were awarded prizes by the dean of Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College Dr Prasanna Aithal.
The celebrations were concluded by the planting of medicinal plants by all the students.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr C V Raghuveer and dean of Yenepoya Homeopathy Medical College Dr V V Vernekar were also present.
