Universities without research non-sustainable: Dr. Byrappa

Mangaluru: Srinivas University organized a two day International Conference on Nanotechnology in Srinivas Hotel. This program was inaugurated by Dr. K Byrappa – former Vice-chancellor of Mangalore University and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri university. He appreciated the efforts of Srinivas University is conducting an international conference on Nanotechnology. He said Universities without research non-sustainable. Srinivas University is doing a lot of research in various fields including nanotechnology. He urged the university to take up more research activities. He also touched upon the contribution of ancient scientific texts and nanomedicine research. Guest of honor Dr. V. P. N. Nampoori Emeritus Professor, International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science & Technology, Cochin, said that Nanotechnology is not new technology and our forefathers were using gold and silver nanoparticles.

Mr Prasad Rao Assistant patent officer Chennai. Dr. Kalappa Prashanta from France and Vivek Anand Sagar from Karnataka Council for Science and Technology were present at the conference. Sri CA A Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor said, “our university offers very unique courses and its effort is to uplift human values in society. Dr. A Srinvas Rao, Pro Vice-chancellor expressed happiness at the conduct of the conference and wished the participants a fruitful and meaningful attendance.

Around 200 research scholars, scientists, students from France, Japan, Dubai, Malaysia, and all other parts of the country participated in the conference. Dr. PS Aithal welcoming the gathering said: “Srinivas University has conducted 20 National conferences and 2 International Conferences this year.” Dr Praveen convener gave a brief introduction to the conference. He said that Srinivas university is the best research university in India. Dr Anil Kumar, Registrar, delivered the vote of thanks. Prof Rohan David Fernandez and Delisha compered, while Dinakar invoked the blessings of the Almighty.

Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre, Govt of Karnataka, and the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Govt of India were the Knowledge Partners for the event.
