Mangaluru: In order to give an opportunity to learn the importance of mobile communication, how a mobile phone works and to learn how to repair it in an emergency, the Department of Physics, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a two-day workshop on “Mobile Communication and Maintenance’ on November 13 and 14, under Star College Status, DBT New Delhi.
The workshop was inaugurated on November 13 at 9.15 AM at the Audio-Visual Room, Veronica Block, St. Agnes College (Autonomous). Murali H, Director (Operations) of BDPS Computer Education, Mangaluru was the chief guest and Sr Dr M Jeswina AC, principal of the College, presided over the inaugural programme. Prof. Mariola C Pinto, chairperson and coordinator of the workshop, explained its purpose and background. Murali H expressed his appreciation of the efforts made by the Physics Department of the College towards gaining knowledge in ‘Mobile Communication and Maintenance’ and stressed the importance of using mobile phones positively in our life. Sr. Dr M Jeswina AC inspired the students to make use of the workshop and also expressed her views on the importance of mobile communication.
During the two days, the sessions with practicals were taken on introduction to electricity, mobile communication, mobile phone theory, troubleshooting by the resource persons Rajesh Kumar and Michael Luis.
The valedictory session was held on November 14 at 3.45 PM. Rajesh Kumar and Michael Luis presided over the valedictory session. The participants expressed their satisfaction on having learned new things during the workshop. Certificates of participation were distributed to mark the closing of the ceremony. Jyothika welcomed the gathering, Parvati Hanamant Ravadi rendered the vote of thanks and Carol D’Silva compered the evening session.
