Manipal: TAPMI Model United Nations, this time, will be held for two days, on 24th and 25th of January 2019, in the lush green campus of TAPMI, Manipal.
This academic event will provide the students of undergraduate and post-graduate levels a common platform to join and act as the delegates of the countries across the world.
Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations sessions. The participants (also referred to as delegates) role-play diplomats representing a country or an NGO in a simulated session of an organ (committee) of the United Nations, such as the Security Council or the General Assembly.
Participants do their research about a country and its position on the discussed topics, debate, deliberate, consult, and then try to find solutions to the discussed problems. During the conference, participants have to employ a variety of communication and critical thinking skills in order to defend the position of the country they represent.
MUN experience is not only about the simulation of sessions, but also about how one thinks out of the box and carve out solutions for the issues that the world is facing today.
And the young and ambitious participants may come up with solutions in this simulation, that were never thought of before. It is the most fun formal event, wherein a person gets to network amongst people from different colleges. The nights are sleepless as they are filled with fun, laughter and diplomatic brains working together for solving the urgent crisis, that may have just dropped in the conference.
The first edition of TMUN was a grand success, and TAPMI hopes to make the second edition grander!
