Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, celebrated its patron saint, St. Aloysius Gonzaga’s day with great enthusiasm on Thursday, June 20, in the Gonzaga hall.
Rev. Fr. Maxim Noronha, who was the Chief Guest of the program urged the students to seek inspiration from the patron St Aloysius Gonzaga’s life to achieve greater things in life and always dream for higher things. Principal Fr Melwyn Lobo SJ who presided over the program highlighted the noble qualities of St Aloysius Gonzaga and advised the students to choose a life inspired from within imbibing the qualities of the Patron where they can excel and reach greater heights. Vice-Principal Jacintha D’Costa was present for the program and distributed the certificates to the winners along with the guests.
The programme began with a prayer song led by the school choir. Ananya Pulicot of Class IX welcomed the gathering followed by a welcome dance by the students of class IX and X. Kimberly Rodrigues of Class X highlighted the significance of the feast of the Patron. A skit was also presented based on the values of St Aloysius Gonzaga. A melodious song was sung by class III and IV students. Winners of various competitions held were awarded with certificates by the dignitaries. The entire programme was anchored by Adeeb Bin Ashraf and Samridhi Salian of Class IX B.
