Mangaluru: The Departments of Applied Science (Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology) of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), will be organising “SYNBIOSIS 2017”, a state level inter-collegiate competition for pre-university students on December 2, in the LCRI block.
Dr. Richard Gonsalves, Vice Principal, LCRI, St. Aloysius College, will be the chief guest at the inaugural function. Rev. Fr. Dr. Leo D’Souza S J, Director of Laboratory of Applied Biology, will be the guest of honour and Rev. Fr. (Dr) Praveen Martin S J, Principal of St. Aloysius College, will be presiding over the function. Shameena K A of the Dept of Biochemistry will be the convenor of the programme.
The one day programme will include 6 different events, including competitions like Metamorphosis (Ice breaker), Bio-symposium (Seminar), Bio-mosaic (collage), Nutribite (cooking without fire), Membrain (Quiz), Chromo biology (Rangoli) and Bio-scavenge (wealth out of waste).
The objective of this programme is to explore the different branches of learning in life sciences and to experience the joy of learning biology. This programme is sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the Star College Scheme.
