St Aloysius College to hold candle light march against atrocities on women

Mangaluru: Deeply disturbed by the recent atrocities on women, the Women Cell, Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) and Human Rights Cell of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru plan to hold a panel discussion and a candlelight march will be held on Friday, 13 December 2019 at 4.15 pm in the Mother Teresa Peace Park, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. These activities are an expression of their solidarity with the victims and a protest against the violation of human rights.

 

The candlelight march will take place from the Jyothi circle till the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Bunder followed by a street play put up by the students of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.

Dr. Shalini Aiyappa, Dr. Saraswati and Dr. Roseveera D’Souza, the coordinators of this event felt the need to organize a peaceful march and involve the public and students from colleges in and around Mangaluru city.

Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions and Rev Dr. Praveen Martis SJ, Principal, St Aloysius College will grace the occasion.
