St Aloysius College conducts “Namma Nadhi Swatcha Nadhi” Campaign

The Department of Sociology, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore in association with Wonder Splassh Water Sports Organization organized a one day Clean Water Campaign, “NAMMA NADHI SWATCHA NADHI” on 7th March at Palguni River near Kulur Mangalore.

The main objectives of the campaign was to sensitize the students to the pollutants contaminating the water bodies of Mangalore River and to instill a sense of responsibility and participation among students in environmental activities, to bring about awareness among the public about keeping the environment clean and safeguarding life of creatures under water. A total of 35 students from the final year BA Sociology were active participants in the campaign.

Under the guidance of Dr. Prema Dsouza, H O D, Sociology Department, students engaged themselves in various cleaning activities on the bank of River. Mr. Ravi Paul Ferrao, Promoter of Wonder Splassh and other staff members of Organization were present on the occasion. The campaign was concluded with a water sports activity by the students. Dr Prema also acknowledged the participation of the Organisation and the Students and thanked them for the same.
