St. Agnes College holds NAAC sponsored two-day national IQAC seminar

Mangaluru: A two-day national seminar sponsored by NAAC on the theme ‘Creating a quality Culture Across Curriculum’, was held by St. Agnes College (Autonomous) on January 11 and 12.

Centre for Continuing Education and Interprofessional Development (CCEID) Deputy Director and Professor of Microbiology at Manipal University Dr Ciraj A M inaugurated the seminar. He also delivered the key note address. St Agnes Institutions, Mangaluru Joint Secretary, Sr Dr Maria Roopa A C was the guest of honour. St. Agnes College (Autonomous) principal Dr Sr Jeswina A C presided over the function.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ciraj explained the different aspects of quality and how a culture of quality cannot be a sudden change but needs to be developed over a period of time.

Other topics discussed during the seminar were Pedagogic Innovations, Problem based learning, e-content development, learning to learn- pathways for success and the need to have a quality of work life in the teaching career. The seminar also exposed the faculty to different methods of teaching and assessment. A few papers were also presented during the seminar.

Dr Ciraj A M, Dr S Amutha, Dept of Educational Technology, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, Dr. Jose Cherian, School of Education, Christ (deemed to be) University, Bengaluru and Dr. Smitha Bhat, Fr Mullers Medical College, Mangaluru were the resource persons.

The valedictory session was chaired by St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru vice principal Sr Dr Venissa.
