“Shakthi can create” at Shakthi Residential School

Mangaluru: As a part of Dasara holidays, the Shakthi Residential School and Shakthi Pre University College had jointly organized and Dasara holiday camp, under the title “Shakthi can create”, in the school auditorium, here on Tuesday, October 9.

The camp was inaugurated by the Convenor of Sudana Residential School, Puttur, Rev Vijay Harvin, through a lamp lighting ceremony.

Rev Vijay Harvin said, “Children should involve themselves in playing along with their studies. Schools should not be the centres that prepare children only to score high in academics, but keeping in mind the future of the nation, there must be all round development”.

“Only with the development of ones personality can the society be changed. Teachers, must have the capacity of sighting positive nature of children. According to their likings, changes must be brought out”, he added.

Harvin also said, “Dr. Shivaram Karanath’s concept of ‘Nali-Kali’ (a concept of enjoying while learning) is apt to the current times. Parents and teachers have greater responsibilities in identifying the talents of children. Such camps will help hundreds of students to showcase their hidden talents”.

Member of Mangaluru City Corporation, Akhila Alva was invited as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering she said, “More than television and other media, children will get more robust experience from such camps. Such camps must be utilized by the parents, to shape a better future of their children”.

She wished the camp by saying, “Let the good values be inculcated in these children by the resource persons from varied fields”.

Managing Trustee of Sri Gopalkrishna Temple K C Naik presided over the function.

Administration Officer of the institution Baikadi Janardhan Achar gave the introductory remarks, Principal of Shakthi Pre University College Prabhakar J S, welcomed the gathering and Lecturer of the college Shashikala, rendered vote of thanks.

Member of the school administration Suguna C Naik, Chief Consultant Ramesh K, Development Officer Naseem Banu, and Convenor, Sri Gopalkrishna Pre School Neema Saxena were present.
