Mangaluru: To create awareness among the youth on water conservation, SDM PG Centre for Management Studies and Research, Mangaluru, organized a workshop on the topic “Water Conservation Management among Youths”.
Jagadish Bala, Principal, Govt. First Grade College for Women, Balmatta was the resource person. He gave an insight into the existing water problems in and around Mangaluru city and explained the reasons for the same. He stated that water recharging is essential for preserving water levels in future and can be done through rainwater harvesting. He also explained a few success stories where, without the support of the government authorities, they successfully implemented rainwater harvesting and had overcome the problem of draught.
Shruthi Kamath compeered the programme.
