Mangaluru: The Department of Business Administration of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will be organising the “Sahyadri Whiz Quiz” a grand finale quiz competition on March 9 in the Sahyadri Campus.
This event is for undergraduates to create a fun-filled atmosphere for learning and acquiring general knowledge about current events in the business world. The main aim of the event is to motivate students to apprise themselves with the latest news and other emerging developments in the areas of Business History, Marketing, HR Finance and Indian Economy.
The programme has been designed in two phases-College Round and Sahyadri Campus Round. The College Round of the quiz was conducted during the months of February and March in the 60 selected colleges of the districts of Mangaluru, Udupi, Kodagu, Karwar and Kasargod. Teams consisting of 3 members from the final year graduation were eligible to participate in this round. Around 7000 students participated in the first round of the quiz out of which 950 students were selected for the final round which is scheduled to be held on March 9 at the Sahyadri campus.
The grand finale of the Sahyadri Whiz Quiz will begin with a brief inauguration programme at 9.30 AM. Kamakhaya Prashad Aggarwal, Business Head, Karnataka and Goa, HDFC Ltd., will be the chief guest and Pradeep Suresh, Director, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, E&Y Associates LLP, will be the guest of honour of the programme.
After the brief inaugural, two rounds of preliminary quizzes and the final round will be conducted. Cash prizes of Rs 25000, Rs 15000 and Rs 10000 will be awarded to the First, Second and Third Prize winners respectively. The Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2018 will be conducted by Quiz Master Rakshith Shetty.
