Mangaluru: An institution’s alumni are the ambassadors for that institution and have a responsibility towards academic and research-oriented initiatives undertaken by their alma mater. In the same spirit, an alumni meet was organised by Sahyadri MBA College on October 5.
Dean (Strategic Planning) Ramesh KG welcomed the gathering and MBA Director Dr Vishal Samartha highlighted the latest developments and initiatives undertaken by the department.
Roopesh Salian, an alumnus from the first batch of the college, was the chief guest of the programme. Currently, Salian is working as a Senior Business Process Improvement Analyst at Northern Trust.
Addressing the gathering, College Principal Dr R Srinivasa Rao Kunte re-iterated the role of an alumni in the overall development of the institution.
The formal programme was followed by cultural performances by the alumni as well as current MBA students and faculty.
Games were organized and prizes were distributed. The programme concluded with alumni sharing their experiences and memories as students at Sahyadri and
finally got onto the dance floor, followed by a Gala Dinner.
The MBA department organises an alumni meet every year to invite the alumni back so that they can spend quality time with faculty members, see the institution’s growth firsthand, and keep abreast of the progress made by the college.
