Mangaluru: The Hindi Department of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru, organised “Bhasha Sangham”, a programme which focussed on the development, maintenance and the use of complex systems of communication, on March 8 at the Xavier Auditorium in the college premises.
Dr. Mukund Prabhu, HoD of the Hindi Department welcomed the gathering.
The chief guest for the programme was Dr. Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, former head of the department and Professor in Sanskrit at St. Aloysius College and also a well known Sandalwood actor, inspired the young minds with his varied life experiences.
Dr. Prabhu then spoke about some of the achievements of the chief guest. Lecturers from various departments-Dr. Ratan Tilak Mohunta, HoD, English Department; Dr. Saraswathi, HoD, Kannada Department and Retnamma, Malayalam Department were the other guests.
Students from different faculties attended the programme and were made more aware about language and communication. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Vidya.
