Mangaluru: The School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, in association with the Mangalore University, successfully organized an Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship-2018 for the ‘Joyce Pais’ memorial rolling trophy for women on 22nd September 2018, at the Yenepoya (deemed to be university) Yendurance zone sports complex Deralakatte, Mangaluru.
The tournament was inaugurated by Premnath Ullal International Kabaddi Referee and Rajyostva Awardee and Chief Guest Dr. HaridasKuloor Assistant Director Dept. Of Physical Education Mangalore University. The Guests of Honour included Ravindra Shetty Ulidottu President Vidya Rathna Education Trust Deralakatte, KumariBhavani Councilor Ullal Town Panchayath, Prof. Juliet CJ Principal School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya.
Around 12 colleges had participated in which Alva’s College Moodbidri won the memorial trophy, while Dr. NSAM First Grade College were the announced as first and second runners up respectively. The Best Player of the Tournament trophy was bagged by Sandhya of Alva’s College Moodbidri.
The Valedictory ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Naveen Shetty Executive Council Member of Karnataka State Basketball Association. The gathering was welcomed by Fiona Miranda Sports Secretary. Manohar Amin Convener of Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangaluru Zone, Premnath Ullal International Kabaddi Referee and Rajyostava Awardee, Dr. Flossy Rayappan Retd. Assistant Professor Dept. Of Physical Education School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya were Guests of Honour. Dr. Jenice Mary P Vice Principal School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, presided over the function.
After the prize distribution, Sandeep Ullal Convener Assistant Professor Dept. Of. Physical Education School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya thanked all those who made this tournament possible and successful.
The ceremony was compered by Shravya.
Dr. Kishore Kumar C K Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University witnessed the tournament.
