Mangaluru: The Association of Private College Principals of Mangalore University annual meet was held at Besant College Mangaluru recently. After the business session, the election of new office bearers for the year 2019/20 of the association held.
Prof. Rajan V N Principal of St Mary’s College, Shirva of Udupi district has been elected as the President of the Association for the year 2019/20.
Prof. Rajan V N has served for over 29 years at Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar. He was the HoD of Commerce and various capacities. He was transferred as a Principal to St Mary’s College, Shirva, in the year 2013.
He has served as the Vice President for two years in the Association of Private College Principals of Mangalore University earlier. Currently, he is also serving as the member of the Academic Council of Mangalore University. Prof. Rajan V N is an effective teacher, disciplinarian and an able administer.
Dr. Narayana Shetty, Principal of Bhandarkar’s College, Kundapur and Dr. Aruna Kamath, Principal of SDM College of Management are elected as the Vice Presidents of the association for the year 2019/20. Dr. Laxminarayana Bhat Principal of Besant Evening College is elected as the Secretary and Dr. D Sathish Shetty Principal of Besant Women’s College is the treasurer. Prof Samuel K. Principal of Crossland College, Brahmavar who served as the president of the association for many years is nominated as advisor of the association along with Prof Raveesh Kumar, Principal of Sri Dhavala College.
The important focus of the association is to safeguard the interests of private colleges aided and unaided, affiliated to the Mangalore University. The association intends to resolve the issues of various forms related to the colleges with the concerned authorities amicably.
