Mangalore: Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to question himself and find the ultimate truth. The melancholy of understanding oneself helps him understand the beauty of creation, opined writer and critic Laxmisha Tholpadi.
He was addressing the gathering as part of a special lecture during ‘Remembering Yugapurusha Paramahamsa Ramakrishna- an exhibition and reminiscences’, organised by the English Association of University College at the Ravindra Kalabhavan here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the exhibition on Paramahamsa, Principal Dr Uday Kumar M A, the chief guest, stressed the importance of academics.
English Association co-ordinator Prof Pattabhirama Somayaji spoke on how important it is to know and understand the lives of great men like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
A paper on Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was presented by Harshith of II BA. Chelsea and Lavita read two parables.
English department former HoD Dr M P Ammalu Kutti, HoD N K Rajalaxmi and N Shyam Bhat were also present.
