Mangaluru: The science department of St Aloysius PU College attended a training programme on ‘Effective Coaching for Competitive exams’ on 06 October 2020.
Prof. Ronald Pinto, head of the Institute for Individual Development, and a veteran in the field of competitive exams training led the training.
He talked to the staff on the recent trends in competitive exams and the latest coaching methods available to the students. He also addressed the staff on a wide range of topics such as coverage of curriculum, content-preparation, effective use of online tools for teaching, mentoring and counselling students.
Apart from the regular exams like CET, NEET and JEE, he also gave an overview of the various other opportunities available to students through several other national level entrance exams. He urged the staff to guide and motivate their students to sign-up for these exams as well.
Fr Sujay Daniel S.J., Head of Competitive Exam Cell, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the challenges faced by educators while mentoring the students for competitive exams. He suggested various strategies that could be adopted for effective coaching.
Coordinators for the competitive exams, Mr Amogh Shetty, Department of Physics, introduced the resource person for the event to the gathering and Mrs Kiran Shetty, Dean of Aloysius PU College, concluded the event with her vote of thanks.
