A new age technology-enabled Balance Assessment Clinic was inaugurated in the Department of ENT at Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore on 10th February 2021.
Balance EyeTM innovated, manufactured and marketed by Cyclops Medtech Pvt Ltd Bangalore was installed in the department for better assessment and management of patients with vertigo and balance disorders. Dr Vijayalakshmi Subramaniam. Professor and Head of the Department of ENT welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction to the balance assessment tool.
Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University inaugurated the setup and emphasized on the importance of correct assessment for accurate diagnosis of patients presenting with balance disorders. Dr D R Srinivas, the chief innovator of Balance EyeTM and founder of Cyclops Medtech Pvt Ltd Bangalore delivered a guest lecture on the topic ‘Nystagmus in a nutshell’.
Niranjan Subbarao co-founder of Cyclops Medtech Pvt Ltd was also present. Dr B H Sripathi Rao Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr Gangadhar Somayaji, Registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr MS Moosabba, Dean Yenepoya Medical College and Dr S Padmanabha, Medical Superintendent, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital graced the occasion. Dr Sheetal Rai, Associate Professor, Department of ENT proposed the vote of thanks.
