Media Alumni Association Inspire Awards distributed

Vidyagiri: “It is the responsibility of the media to bring the youth who are getting deviated from the right path to build a better society,” said, Mangalore University, Registrar Dr A.M Khan.

He was speaking at MAAM Inspire award ceremony hosted by the Media Alumni Association of Mangalagangotri (MAAM) held at Alva’s College, Moodubidire. He said patience, constructive thoughts and verification of information is essential to become a good writer in any field.

Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said the students must not be narrow-minded. It is very necessary for them to indulge in different fields to find success. Being narrow-minded prevents us from gaining information”, he added. Vibha Dongre, Alva’s College and Chetana Nayak of Nitte Institute of Communications bagged the first and second prize respectively in the PG level.

Shrikanth P of Vivekananda College, Puttur and Sonia S of Alva’s College won the first and second prize respectively in the UG level.
MAAM President Suresh Paduvettu presided over the program. Mangalore University SVP Kannada Research Center, Assistant Professor Dr Dhananjay Kumble, MAAM Honorary President Venu Sharma, MAAM Inspire Award Coordinator Sharat Hegde Kadthala, Alva’s College Principal Dr Kurian, Alva’s PG Journalism Dept Coordinator Shrinivas Pejathaya were present among others.
