Mangaluru: University College Mangalore NSS Unit, in association with Karnataka Aids Prevention Society, District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPUC), organized ‘International Youth Day’ and launched NSS activities for the year, on Saturday.
Inaugurating the event at Ravindra Kalabhavana, Mangalore University Political Science Associate Professor Dr. Dayananda Naik called upon students to move towards the brightness of knowledge and find accomplishment in service. DAPUC District Supervisor Mahesh spoke on the concept of youth day and a healthy society.
Presiding over the function, Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M A explained the benefits of physical labor. Meanwhile, responsibilities were handed over to new office bearers of NSS. Volunteers who represented the college in state and national-level were congratulated; prizes were distributed for essay competition winners.
NSS officer, economics professor Suresh, lecturer Dheeraj were also present. Sushmitha mastered the ceremony, while Tarun extended a vote of thanks.
