Moodbidri: The Rostrum Speakers’ Club of Alva’s Education Foundation held a lecture on developing mental faculties at the MBA Seminar Hall of Alva’s Institute of Engineering & Technology (AIET) on April 3.
In his lecture, Srinivas Arka, Founder of Arka Foundation India and Centre for Conscious Awareness advised that mind should act according to one’s requirement and if we fail to control our mind it may lead to misery.
“Mind is like a football and body can be considered as the field. All senses are the players. The game is between logical mind and emotional heart, with soul as the umpire. The success depends on how skillfully and gracefully you play with the ball of your mind to reach the goals of life at various stages”, he elaborated.
Arka further added that the focus by involving one’s heart and mind can enhance concentration. Mediation, diet, Yoga, creative activities and exercise can help to improve intellect and create healthy emotions, he added. “When intelligence fails, intuition awakes us and makes us much stronger and courageous”, he added. Answering a query on how to overcome over confidence, he said that if one establishes unity among mind, thought and feelings, they can easily vanquish impudence.
Presiding over the programme, Alva’s College Principal Dr. Kurian said, “Infuse your life with action-don’t wait for it to happen, make it happen. The path to success is to take massive and determined action.”
Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva, Principal of Alva’s College of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences Vanitha Shetty and Coordinator Rohan D’Souza were present.
