Bengaluru: ‘Jurno II-Edition’ an intercollegiate media fest held at Loyola Degree College on October 5, 2019, gave a wonderful opportunity to the budding journalism students of various colleges of Bangalore to showcase their journalistic calibre through various competitions based on Journalism.
The programme kicked off with an inaugural event at 9 am. The fest was officially declared open by the Vice Principal Dr Vincent A.
There were 8 competitions, Best Anchoring, Short Film, Photography, Radio Jockey, Comic Strips, Collage, Quiz and Mr/Ms Broadcaster which was the main event of the fest.
There were about 15 colleges who participated with full vigour and enthusiasm.
The campus was beautifully decorated to welcome the participants and created a festive mood which facilitated the participants to have a learning experience with fun.
The valedictory function was held at Loyola quadrangle at 4 pm which was coloured with spectacular dances by students and V Dance group. The chief guest of the day was Mr Thimothy Connors the Program coordinator of Sports Outreach India commonly known as Breakthrough.
The prizes were given away to the winners by the guests of the day. Finally, the participants from Kristu Jayanthi College were declared overall champions, who are the defending champions.
The Jurno introduced rolling Trophy this edition onwards. Jurno also gave a scholarship to one deserving student of the college.
