ICYM Bantwal Unit observes Environment Day

Manglauru: Environment Day on the theme of “Nature itself is the great physician” was observed by the members of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Bantwal unit at the Infant Jesus Church, Modankap on Sunday, June 24.

Rev. Fr. Maxim Noronha, Parish Priest in his address, emphasized the need for protecting the environment and to start the process of preserving the environment at the individual level. He highlighted the importance of giving preference to traditional medicines over synthetic ones.

A wide variety of medicinal plants was planted around the church premises and herbal medicines (kashaya) were distributed to all.

Fr. Ashwin Crasta, Assistant Parish Priest, Sandeep Menezes, Vice President Parish Council, Richard D’Souza, Secretary Parish Council, Avinash Jeevan D’souza, ICYM President, ICYM members and parishioners participated in the programme.
