GSSSIETW holds State Level Telecommunication Project Model Competition ‘TELEUSTAV-2017’

Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru has organized State Level Telecommunication Project Model Competition (TELEUSTAV-2017) on April 17. The programme was organized by the Telecommunication Engineering Department in collaboration with IETE Mysuru Centre.

Dr. Jagannath Reddy H N, Registrar, VTU, Belagavi conveyed his good wishes for the success of the event.

Sri. Prasanna Kumar B G, Senior Technical Specialist, Nokia Network India, Bengaluru, Sri. Subramanya Rao, Network Specialist, Intel, Bengalaru, Smt. Vanaja B Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS (R), Mysuru, Sri. R. K Bharath, CEO & Management Committee Member, GSSS(R), Smt. Anupama B Pandit, AAO, GSSSIETW, All Managing Committee members, Dr. Sumithra Devi K A, Principal, GSSSIETW. Convener Dr. Parameshachari B D, Professor & Head, Dept. of TCE. Coordinator Prof. Manjula G and Staff and students of TCE and HOD’s of all the departments were present.

The TELEUSTAV-2017 was inaugurated by Guest of Honor Sri. Prasanna Kumar B G, Senior Technical Specialist, Nokia Network India, Bengaluru, on April 17 at 10 am in Seminar hall, GSSSIETW Campus. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the Telecommunication engineering department for taking very good initiative for the benefit of telecommunication students. This type of programs will be helpful to the students in building their technical growth to the industry level, he said.

Session chair Sri. Subramanya Rao, Network Specialist, Intel, Bengalaru, highlighted the Teleutsav-2017 is highly relevant for the students to produce good work to develop their skills. He also said that attitude is a little thing that makes a lot of difference, he asked students to develop positive attitude.

Dr. Sumithra Devi. K. A, Principal, GSSSIETW addressed the gathering. She highlighted that ECE and TCE branches are same except some elective oriented subjects. This kind of competition will help students to upgrade their knowledge and to build confidence.

Smt. Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon Secretary, GSSS (R), appreciated the department of Telecommunication engineering for taking initiation in conducting Teleutsav-2017 exclusively for Telecommunication students.

Sri. R. K Bharath CEO & MCM, GSSS(R), Smt. Anupama. B. Pandit, AAO, GSSSIETW presided the function.

Dr. Parameshaachari. B. D, Prof & Head briefed about Teleutsav-2017. He said that the purpose of this model exhibition and competition is to highlight the opportunities and challenges in the Telecommunication sector, get insight into the future procurement plans and to examine the technology options and strategies. He also said that the main objective of the competition is to provide a forum to exhibit the technical challenges implemented in Telecommunication Engineering field. This creates a platform to share and exchange ideas from the Telecommunication Engineering students of various Institutions, which also encourage their minds to actively involve, interact and to enhance their knowledge in the field of Telecommunication. He also highlighted that Department of telecommunication engineering is among the first UG programme to get NBA accreditation in the Mysore Region.

The event received 20 Project abstracts from various engineering colleges across Karnataka . To name a few, Dr. AIT, BIT, MVJCE, KSIT, CMRIT, BMSIT, JNNCE, Shimoga, SIT,Tumkur.
