Fr Muller Nursing Department observed World Breast Feeding Week 2018

Mangaluru : The faculty and postgraduate students of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing department of Fr Muller Nursing College of Nursing observed the World Breast Feeding Week 2018 on the theme “Breast Feeding – Foundation of Life” at Nirmala Hospital Ullal on 2 August 2018.

The programme commenced with a prayer song followed by lighting the lamp as a symbol of knowledge. Updates on importance of breast feeding to mother and child, techniques of breastfeeding and storage of breast milk especially to the working mothers was given. The talk was delivered through discussion, demonstration of vedio clips, pictures by Merlin. A short video clip ‘Amirtha Bindu’ was played after the talk. A quiz was conducted during the session to involve the audience.

More than hundred audience including antenatal, postnatal mothers and adolescent girls were present. Dr Sr Lenita, Obstetrician and Gynecologist of the hospital, Rev Sr Emma, Administrator of the hospital, Pramila DSouza, HOD, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Shoba, Assistant Professor of the department and the staffs of Nirmala Hospital witnessed the programme.
