Foundation stone laying ceremony of ‘Karnataka Bank Bayalu Ranga Mandira’

Mangaluru: “What you want to do tomorrow, do it today. What you are going to do today, do it now. The attitude of postponing is no good to anyone,” said Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, Mahabaleshwara M S.

Mahabaleshwara M S, inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony of ‘Karnataka Bank Bayalu Ranga Mandira’, on Thursday, March 28, in University College Mangalore, which is being constructed from the grant issued by the Karnataka Bank. Mahabaleshwara M S addressing the students, said that it is the responsibility of the students studying in University College Mangalore, to safegaurd and continue the legacy of the college. “Dying without any achievement is a disgrace to death, and living without helping others is a disgrace to life,” he said.

Appreciating the social cause activities of Karnataka Bank, Vice Chancellor of University College Mangalore, Prof. Kishori Naik, said that the contribution of the alumni towards the development of the college is also exceptional.

Thanking Karnataka Bank for its contribution towards the college, Alumni Association President, Dharmanna Naik, said that achivers from the college in different fields should be an inspiration to the current students.

Principal, Uday Kumar, spoke on the occassion and said that this is an historic day to the college.

Karnataka Bank PRO, Srinivas Deshpande, Evening College Principal, Dr. Ramakrishna and Alumni Association Officers were present during the occassion.

Cultural Department Head of the college, Dr. Kumara Subrahmanya Bhat compered the programme. Post Graduation Economics Co-ordinator, Dr Jayavanth Naik proposed the vote of thanks.

Relationship between Karnataka Bank and University College Mangalore

The relationship between Karnataka Bank and University College Mangalore is unique. As told by the Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, Mahabaleshwara M S, K Sooryanarayana Adiga, who had served the bank for 40 years, was the motivating force behind the development of the college. M S Krishna Bhat and Ananth Krishna Bhat who served the bank from high and decorative posts were the students of the college.

To harden the bond Karnataka Bank and University College Mangalore, the college with the grant of Rs. 17.5 lakhs is constructing the ‘Karnataka Bank Bayalu Ranga Mandira’.
