Mangaluru: The Department of General Surgery, Father Muller Medical College conducted an elocution competition for MBBS students and interns on August 11 from 2 – 3.30 PM at Hospital Conference Hall.
Dr. Leo Francis Tauro, Professor & HOD, Department of Surgery welcomed the gathering.
In all, 20 participants spoke on the topic “Classroom teaching in Clinical Medicine – Essential or Obsolete?” Dr. Leo Francis Tauro, Dr. Erel A I Diaz, Professor & Unit Head, Dr. John Joseph S Martis, Professor & Unit Head were the judges for the competition.
This competition was conducted by Dr. Sheldon Mathias, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery. First prizes was won by Irene and Akshay, second prizes by Simon and Krista and consolation prize by Shruthi.
Totally, about 75 delegates comprising of final MBBS VIII term students, interns and surgery postgraduates along with staff members from the Department of Surgery were present during the competition.
