DSU’s Talent Search 2017 kicks off!

Bengaluru: Dayanada Sagar University was witness to a massive turnout as 1500 students participated in the Talent Search-2017 that was organised in Bengaluru.

“Language is only a criteria, while information should be acquired in their native language. By doing this, one can reach great heights. In countries like China, Japan, Russia and Germany, people are taught in their native language. Technology should reach to a every talented child in this way,” said R Janardhan, Vice Chancellor of Dayanand Sagar University.

Students from Bengaluru, Telangana, Andrapradesh came to take part in the Talent Search 2017.

The event was organised in collaboration with companies like Autodesk, JE, IBM, Etos, MVR, Nvidea, Bostan, Bosch and Dassal Systems.

In this event, 26 various training programmes like C Language, Hackathon, Ideathon, Robotics, Industrail Automation, Machine Learning, Autodesk Fashion 360 Design Challenge, and DSU-Bosch Design Challenge were included. More than 50 members of the faculty imparted their knowledge to the participants of the mega event during the various training programmes.

Students are required to draw from the training and technical skills development programmes and prepare projects in 3D models, videos, orals and posterts based on the subject ‘E-class and Technological Skill’. The submissions and presentations will be judged and shortlisted by the DSU jury. The results of the competiton will be revealed on December 14. A cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs awaits the winners of the Talent Search 2017.

Meanwhile, in the commerce department, elocutions on topics like ‘Demonetization’ and ‘GST’ were held. Bengaluru’s National Public School, Kumarans, Vijaya, Tagore International School and other institutions participated in the discussion. More than 200 students took part in the programme.

The judges for the event were Prof. Shridhar of BNMIT, Corporator Trainer Shalini Taneja, Prof. Meera Sheshanna of IBMR Business School, and Prof. Archana.

Dean and Professor of Management Studies Dr. Punitha Kariyappa said, “Talents of the students should come out at the right age. When the students are enthusiastic towards learning, institutions like Dayananda Sagar University will support them in their careers.”

Dean of DSU and SOE Dr. A Shrinivas, Chancellor Dr A N Murthy, IIAC Professor Paremeshwar Aiyyar, President Dr Dakshaini Khanna, Secretary Muruli and MJVP Gaki Swamy were present at the programme.
