Mangaluru: The Bhandary Foundation, Mangaluru, has been recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Organization under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
This is based on industrial research programmes conducted at its constituents college – Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, and all the other developments in the institution. The department has also observed the infrastructure facilities provided, work undertaken and the vision of the foundation.
The scientific and industry-oriented activities, research-oriented teaching and training programmes, projects undertaken with financial assistance from various government agencies like DST/AICTE/DRDO/VGST and other industries, patents filed by the Institution, industrial and entrepreneurial activities organized are the various milestones that brought this recognition to the Institute.
The Bhandary Foundation, founded during the year 2002, has emerged as an enterprising entity in the field of education and social activities in a short span of time. Manjunath Bhandary, the Chairman’s novel thoughts added a new dimension to the world of education.
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Bhandary Foundation at the Sahyadri Campus, Adyar, Mangaluru. The motto of the institution is to promote quality education driven by competent research in the area of technical and management studies. The Institution has created state of the art infrastructure in all spheres and significant achievements are in place to be called a great institution. The institution has always been a trend setter among the peers and to support the mission of quality education, the Centre for Research and Development has been established.
