Mangalore: The two-day 22nd annual national homeopathic conference "Ventura’17, New Avenues in Homeopathy" organised by the Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College started on October 6 and 7 at the Father Muller Convention Centre Hall, Kankanady.
The inaugural programme began at 9.30 AM with a traditional Arathi welcome. The chief guest of the programme was Prof. K Umamaheshwar Rao, Director of National Institute of Technology, Suratkal. Dr. Shrikanth B Konkani, MD(Hom), Principal, Bharatesh Homoeopathic Medical College, Belagavi and also a member of Central Council Homeopathy, New Delhi was the guest of honour. Rev. Fr. Richard A Coelho, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institution presided over the function.
The programme began with a prayer song. Dr. Shivaprasad K, Principal, Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College gave the welcome address which was followed by the lighting of the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Prof. K Umamaheshwar Rao recalled his experiences with homeopathy as a child and later at his workplace at IIT, Kharagpur. He urged the young doctors to do research and enlighten the world on how homeopathy works.
Guest of Honour Dr. Shrikanth B Konkani in his speech, told the audience that homeopathy too was evolving with the changing times. Both the guests were presented with mementos and Dr. Konkani was felicitated.
The Director of FMCI gave his presidential address. The chief guest and guest of honour released the souvenir of the conference. The programme ended with the Institution Anthem.
The administrators and principals of Father Muller Charitable Institutions were all present.
