Moodabidri: The Computer Science and Engineering division of Alva’s Engineering College in association with the Science Society of India had organised “Alva’s Hackathon 2018.”
Inaugurating the programme, Science Society of India Chairman Narayan Iyer said that students should develop new software solutions in hackathons to ensure safer online financial transactions.
Alva’s Education Foundation Trustee Vivek Alva, who presided over the programme, said the engineering students should successfully implement the technology they have learnt through experimentation.
Head of the Department Manjunath Kottari provided information on the upcoming regional level hackathon.
Students presented projects in technological development and Hack-in-Demo categories.
About 80 students in 20 teams participated in this competition. Rakesh Choudhury, an engineer at Cynopsis Bangalore and Sannith Shetty of Tech Genie Pvt Ltd were guides for the event.
