Mangaluru: The Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Biotechnology had organised a one day national level inter-collegiate fest “Chimera 2K18” on March 7.
In the fest, St. Aloysius Institute of Management & Information Technology (AIMIT) emerged as overall champions while SDM College won the runners-up title.
Earlier, Balachandran Bhat, Senior Manager, United Breweries, inaugurated the national fest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasised on the importance of education for achieving great heights in life.
The guest of honour Dr. Harish Poojary, Sequent Scientific, spoke on the various opportunities for advancement in the field of Biotechnology.
Competitions such as Pressure Cooker (Stress Interview), Take a Plunge (Ice Breaker) and Zografiki (Painting), were organised as part of the fest.
Principal of the college Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis SJ presided over the inaugural ceremony. Vice Principal of LCRI Dr. Richard Gonzalves and Rev. Pradeep Sequeira SJ presided over the valedictory ceremony. Staff and students from various other colleges were present on the occasion.
