Mangaluru: As a mark of completion of the respective degree and honors, it is a part of the process, where the students are awarded certificates and medals as recognition for their academic excellence.
Yenepoya (deemed to be university) organized the 8th Convocation ceremony 2018, here on Saturday, October 27.
Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur Dr. Sanjeev Misra, was invited as the Chief Guest of the programme.
During the ceremony, Chancellor, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra was conferred with “Doctor of Science” (Honoris Causa).
Chancellor, Yenepoya (deemed to be university) Y. Abdulla Kunhi, Vice Chancellor Dr. M Vijaya Kumar, Registrar, Yenepoya (deemed to be university) Dr. Gangadhara Somayaji KS and others were present.
A total of 644 students were awarded the convocation from different streams of UG and PG such as MDS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing, MBBS, MPH, PG Diploma in Forensic Anthropology, PG Diploma in Bio Ethics and Medical Ethics and several others.
The Gold Medal award for the “Best Outgoing Students of 2018” were bagged by Ani Atiquah Binti Muslim from BDS, Vigraman A/L Sundara Moorthi from MBBS, Shyamamol KR from Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, Amrita Priya A from B.Sc Nursing and NP Mubashira from BPT.
Endowment which was instituted in the name of Late Raiza, who was a student of I MBBS of the 2012-13 batch, was awarded to Vigraman A/L Sundara Moorthi of MBBS.
