Mangaluru: St Aloysius Pre-University College celebrated the 140th annual day at the college grounds in Mangaluru on Saturday, November 30.
NITTE University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary was the chief guest at the event.
In his address, Dr. Bhandary reminisced his days as a student of St Aloysius PU College. He said, “The credit goes to the teachers of St Aloysius College for making my ambition fulfilled and nursing my dreams. I studied at St Aloysius College in the year 1971. I was coming from a remote area to a reputed institution like St Aloysius College. I had to switch from Kannada medium to English medium. During the initial days, I had to struggle. But it was my determination that made me work hard and able to reach where I am today. The young minds should always be determined towards reaching their goals. Work hard, convert your knowledge to wisdom and wisdom to the skill that makes you excel in your career.”
Afterward, St Aloysius PU College Principal Fr Clifford Sequeira read out the college annual report.
Earlier, College Day programme convener Reena J Monteiro welcomed the gathering and Student Council President Rabiyath Aslam rendered vote of thanks. Tulsi Patel, Rakshith N, Anusha Shetty, Melisha, and Prince Rai compered the event.
Rector, St Aloysius institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz, Vice-Principal (Commerce and Arts) Charlotte D’Souza, Finance officer Fr Vinod Paul, Vice-Principal (Science) Muralikrishna GM, PTA Vice President Ishara Ahmed, Secretary Azaan Ahmed and Joint Secretary Simona Fernandes were present among others.
