Vijayapura: Home Minister of Karnataka, M B Patil has said that he would support the Bharatiya Janata Party State President B S Yeddyurappa for the chief minister’s post if he left his party and joined the Congress party.
“There is nothing wrong in Yeddyurappa aspiring to become the chief minister of Karnataka. I do not have any objections for that. But Yeddyurappa has to leave BJP and join the Congress party, and I will support him,” said Patil while speaking to media persons in Vijayapura.
“BJP leaders have been making statements from the past one year that the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition government in the state will collapse. But the coalition government is secure, and Yeddyurappa’s aspiration to become the CM will not come true,” added Patil.
