Vijayapura: Claiming that when the Congress, despite being in opposition, is trying to console the families of Covid victims and doing its bit in giving relief, Congress leader and MLC, Prakash Rathod wondered where is ‘nationalist’ organizations such as RSS and Sangha Pariwar during the time of Covid pandemic.

Addressing presspersons at the Congress party office on Friday, he said that the KPCC has launched a campaign to visit every house where people have lost their family members to Covid.

“ We are going to their houses not only to console them but also to offer materials if they are in need. When the Congress is doing this, we do not see where RSS people are during this pandemic. Why are they not seen helping needy people during this global crises”, he asked.

He also questioned the silence of actors such as Amitabh Bachachan, Anupam Kher and Union Minister, Smriti Irani who were extensively raising voices during UPA government when the prices of petrol was rising even by a rupee.

“ Today fuel prices skyrocketed and each liter is available for Rs. 100. LPG cylinders have also become more expensive. Yet these actors are keeping mum without saying a word”, he remarked.

Claiming that the Central Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi of waiving of over 11 lakh crore loan under the pretext of Non Performing Assets (NPA), Congress leader and MLC, Prakash Rathod has said that while the BJP government can waive off enormous quantity of loan of the defaulter, but has not waive of farm loans and help farming sector.

He said that when the UPA was in power, the former prime minister, Manmohan Singh had announced loan waiver of farmers to the tune of over Rs. 70,000 crore.

Stating that during the Modi government, the GDP has dipped to historic low, Rathod said that small countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan are doing better than India in terms of GDP.

“ This is the contribution of Modi to India that even the poor countries like Bangladesh have better GDP than India”, he said.

He said that even in tax collection, India is the highest tax collecting country in the world.

Describing the ‘Make In India’ campaign of Modi government as bogus, he said that because of the wrong policies of Modi, India’s export has dipped and import has increased which is only putting additional financial burden on the country.

Congress leaders, Abdul Hamid Mushrif, S. M. Patil Ganihar, Mohammed Rafiq Tapal, Zamir Bakshi, Karpurmath, Arati Shahapur and others were present.
