Vijaypura: The State Home Minister M B Patil alleged that his signature was forged on a fake letterhead, here on Tuesday, April 16.
Patil said, “In order to create distress in the society, some miscreants have attempted to forge my signature on a fake letterhead and tarnish my image in the society. I urge the police department to take stringent action against the culprits.”
Speaking to one of the Kannada dailies, he said that in the 2018 Assembly elections, some miscreants had posted a fake letter saying that it was written by him on the Lingayat separate religion row to the then All India Congress Committee (AICC) President and current President of Indian National Congress (INC) Sonia Gandhi. He said that the letter had gone viral across all social media platforms.
He said that it was also attempted on July 10, 2017.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Prakash Amrit Nikam has said that Patil had filed a First Information Report (FIR) and had submitted a paper cutting of a newspaper which had carried a report on the same.
Earlier, Patil along with his supporters had filed a complaint with PSI Rajesh Lamani in Adarsh Nagar Police Station.
