Vijaypura: State housing department minister and Mysuru district in-charge minister V Somanna has criticized former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy claiming that there were irregularities in the “Ashraya” housing scheme (government housing scheme) during their regime.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, November 6, he said, “During the tenure of Siddaramaiah and HDK as CM of the state, a lot of illegal activities were reported, and I have ordered a probe into the matter. According to the records, around 14 lakh homes were built under the scheme during their term, and are seen only on the papers and not in reality.”
“We have received several complaints stating that, instead of handing over the houses to the actual beneficiaries, they were distributed among close associates and supporters of both the ex-CMs and for those who have used the influence of money," he added.
