Vijayapura: Looks like difficulties for the BJP in the state and its state chief, BS Yeddyurappa, are far from over. After an open upheaval in the BJP house between BSY and KSE factions, BJP Chief B S Yeddyurappa was out for an embarrassing experience on Saturday when he was speaking at a Parivarthana rally held at Indi of Vijayapura.

Addressing the gathering, Yeddyurappa gave away the credit to former minister and ticket aspirant Ravikanth Patil for organising the rally in an outstanding manner.

This raged the supporters of the other ticket aspirants and within no time a good number of party workers mounted the staged and one of them snatched the mike away from BSY as a mark of resentment to his statement.

Supporters of Indi BJP Mandal President Kasugowda Biradar, BJP leader Paapu Kithali and Dayasagar Patil are said to be behind this incident.

The police, who instantly rushed to the stage, managed to bring the situation under control, but BSY seemed deeply shocked by the development.

Continuing his speech later, BSY said that even before he could complete his statement, the volunteers lost their cool.

“I was not trying to glorify any one individual. Giving ticket to candidates is left up to the high command. Tickets are given based on survey and considering the merit of the candidate,” he said.

However, the Mandal members had left the event venue close on the heels of the commotion. Cutting his speech short, even BSY left the spot.
