Vijayapura: Continuing his attacks on his fellow party man Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, BJP MLA from Vijayapura Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Saturday said that a new CM will assume office after Ugadi, which is celebrated by the state every year on April 13.
The senior BJP leader went as far as to say that the new Chief Minister of Karnataka will be from the northern part of the state.
Stating that he will no longer “go with open hands” to seek a ministerial berth, according to a PTI report, Yatnal said that someone of their own will become the CM and give him a Cabinet position.
Speaking to reporters in Vijayapura on Saturday, Yatnal said that someone from north Karnataka will soon become the new Chief Minister. “Wait and watch. As you (a media person) said for Ugadi… for a new year, a new (CM),” he added, PTI reports.
It can be recalled that Yatnal has recently been very vocal in his criticisms against Chief Minister Yediyurappa and his family, especially and his son B Y Vijayendra for his alleged interference in the functioning of the state government.
He has also openly criticised BSY for his “step-motherly” treatment of the north Karnataka region.
