Bijapur: A four-year old girl– Akshata fell into a borewell and died at Nagathana village despite the heroic attempts of the district administration to save her lfie. The police have now taken the initiative and filed a criminal case against the land owner and five others, on Friday June 20.
The cases have been filed under IPC Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), police confirmed.
The District in charge minister M B Patil, who supervised the rescue operation along with senior district officials, has paid Rs one lakh compensation to the family of Akshata. He said he has recommended to the Chief Minister for the payment of more relief.
